The 16 Craziest Celebrity Fitness Videos

Too soon?! There’s never going to be a good time any longer to see the late David Carradine talking about how he energizes his brain and trachea as part of his fitness regimen. But this is a good a time as any to consider the fact that perhaps some celebrities do not need to attach themselves to a fitness or workout video. And yet. It seems as though most of them do. Even the awkward, out-of-shape celebs. We know there are hundreds of crazy celebrity workout videos out there in existence. Not all of them are on the Internet. But we found these 16.

16. ZSA ZSA GABOR

“It’s Simple, Darling!” Wait. Hold on a second. Is 16 supposed to be the 16th best, or are we making 16 the best. Because this is the best. It’s Zsa Zsa! With a muscle man and double entendres! How could anything be crazier than this??? This is so much what this post is all about. But there’s more. So much more…

15. JACKIE MASON

“Would you like to look like me? Or are you happy with the way you look?” We’re pretty sure that Jackie Mason is in on the joke. That this is, in fact, a joke video. And yet, it’s Jackie Mason. On a treadmill. In his PJs. Did you watch the whole thing? Did anyone?

14. GWYNETH PALTROW

Word is Gwyneth, when she’s not being all about her Goop (that’s actually the name of her lifestyle website), is all about working out and is making her own fitness video. Here she is demonstrating her techniques for the Oprah. We just liked the fact that she does a “band workout.” Get it, Coldplay? Except she keeps the room hot, not cold. Here’s the video clip.

13. MILTON BERLE

Wait? What? Uncle Milty made a workout video? And you can buy it on Amazon.com? Get out of town. No, seriously. If you buy this or are thinking of buying this, then you will need to move out of town because we cannot have you living near us.

12. DAVID CARRADINE

OK. So this is now a most unfortunate celebrity endorsement for your spiritual fitness regimen, especially since Carradine is talking about how great this is for his trachea. And if a guy knows a lot about his trachea, it’s no longer this guy. Hey, don’t look at us. We didn’t make him do it.

11. PAULA ABDUL

Watching Abdul on American Idol, standing up out of her seat and bobbing along to every single song, you may have forgotten that she first made her living as a professional dancer and choreographer for the Laker Girls and then for Janet Jackson, Miss Jackson if you’re nasty. So maybe a workout video from her is a good idea. Especially since it would mean she’s too busy moving to utter any of her now-legendary crazy talk. Uh-oh, she still talks in this clip! “Ha, ha, we’re tricking you.” MUTE! MUTE!

10. CHER

Cher may have stayed in good shape over the decades, but has she paid a price for it? We know that when we want to crunch our abs and get that six-pack, we want to do it in front of a fake sunset with cheeseball pop-rock playing in the background. This is supposed to inspire us? Not really.

9. CARMEN ELECTRA

For this aerobic striptease: “All you need is a bed and an attitude.” She is not joking, people. She is totally serious as she demonstrates how you can slut it up. Losing calories not included. Losing your mind is, though.

8. MARILU HENNER

Her “Dancerobics” routine from 1992 is available on VHS. So that tells you something. So does this review: “The nicest thing I can say about this tape is that Henner is often breathless, which makes me feel much better.”

7. THE GIRLS NEXT DOOR

Yes, Holly, Bridget and Kendra were not just famous for getting naked and letting Hugh Hefner all over them for a while so they could get their own TV show on E! and go their separate ways. They also had to look good naked. Which means plastic surgery! Or a workout video. Kendra shows you how to punch:

Bridget works your abs:

And Holly gets your lower body moving!

6. KATHIE LEE GIFFORD

Feeling fit and fabulous. And yet also horrible.

5. JESSICA SIMPSON

Jessica Simpson’s leaked exercise video never was supposed to be seen. Now we know why.

4. CHYNA

Who doesn’t want to look like Chyna? Everybody? Everybody. She wants to go six rounds with you. You cannot handle this.

3. DIXIE CARTER

This yoga workout video from 1992 is unfortunate on multiple levels, from the fashion to the music to the workout itself. “My husband advised me never to do this in public.” You should have taken his advice. And we’re not just whistling, Dixie!

2. ALYSSA MILANO

It’s called “Teen Steam.” Did you see that? Teen Steam! Repeat after us: We are not going to watch this. We are not going to be on Dateline. We are not going to have to notify the neighbors that we have moved into the neighborhood. Who’s the boss? We’re the boss.

1. O.J. SIMPSON

As he said in his “Minimum Fitness For Men” video. “The Juice, you’ve got to be smarter!” Smarter like in this clip of the out-takes from the video, shot in 1994? We repeat. 1994!

The Seven Actors Who Really Should've Taken The Role

Success in Hollywood can be elusive…and sometimes it can slip right out of your grasp before you even realize it’s there. Here are seven actors who just missed the brass ring.

7. Dougray Scott

Let's be fair to Dougray Scott. At the time, his career was on the rise. He'd been in a few hits, and he'd just been handpicked by Tom Cruise to play the villain in Mission: Impossible II, which was directed by the now-formerly-respected John Woo and was going to be a monster hit. So, even though you've accepted the role for another, smaller film, one the studio isn't really behind, one with a smaller budget that's based off a comic book, if Tom Cruise pushes the shooting schedule over, you work with Tom Cruise.

Yeah, he wound up backing out of X-Men for the role of Wolverine. So as not to piss off Tom Cruise. You know, we bet in hindsight he's kind of not happy with himself.

6. Marlon Brando

In the early ‘60s, Marlon Brando was torn between two historical dramas. This is back when he wasn't bloated/dead, and considered one of the greatest actors in the world. One was going to be directed by a profoundly respected British filmmaker, the other by a formerly respected director who hadn't gotten an Oscar nod since the '30s and was getting by directing crap like the original Ocean's Eleven. If that choice seems obvious, on many levels, you are not Marlon Brando.

Brando turned down Lawrence of Arabia, directed by David Lean and widely considered one of the greatest epics of all time. Instead he played the hero in Mutiny on the Bounty, and managed to singlehandedly show that, despite shooting in the desert without a finished script, you can not only put out art, you're still better off than if you've got Brando in the lead. Brando managed to derail Bounty pretty relentlessly: he destroyed 52 pairs of pants due to over-eating, he pulled crew members to go decorate his friend's wedding, and generally acted like, well, Marlon Brando, with a dash of Gary Busey in there for good measure.

5. Steve Reeves

Steve Reeves’ career had an auspicious start. One of his first roles was with a star director. Unfortunately, that star director was Ed Wood, and that would pretty much define Reeves’ career. Only corn nuggets have starred in more crap. Reeves, a bodybuilding champion, did move on to some great success, playing Hercules and various other icons of gay porn in an ongoing series of movies, eventually becoming Europe’s highest-paid film star. But that didn’t mean jack in the U.S.A., and when United Artists offered Reeves the lead in their new spy series, they wouldn’t meet his price and he turned them down.

Reeves turned down Bond, clearing the way for the one Scotsman the non-Scottish actually want to nail to take over the part and define popular culture and manliness for decades.

Of course, even without Bond on his resume, Reeves was pretty damn manly. One time on a shoot, when he dislocated his shoulder, he just popped it back in and kept going. So, not Bond, but a close second.

4. Richard Grieco

Back in the ‘80s, they were just figuring out that people from TV were just as recognizable as movie stars, and, equally as important, were a hell of a lot cheaper. So when 21 Jump Street took off, some of its cast members, including Johnny Depp, started getting a bunch of interesting scripts. Depp went on to work with John Waters and Tim Burton. Grieco didn’t get those plums, instead getting a failed spin-off and turning down a script he thought was idiotic because it was essentially Die Hard on a bus. He thought it wouldn’t go anywhere.

He turned down Speed.

Well, he was right about it being stupid, anyway.

 3. Christopher Lee

Lee, for a while, was the face of horror, Dracula himself, and also the classiest manly man who ever existed. He‘s not only over six feet of pure muscle, he‘s also an opera singer. He was offered a role in a weird sci-fi movie nobody thought was going to make a nickel, and he politely bowed out, recommending his close friend Peter Cushing for the role instead (which was especially nice because Cushing needed the money just as badly as Lee).

That role would be the only guy who ever insulted Darth Vader to his face, Grand Moff Tarkin. So it wasn’t exactly Luke. It’s still frickin’ Star Wars.

Of course, Lee did eventually get to work with George Lucas as Count Dooku. Now, we can’t prove that Lee saw what was coming, and protected his good friend from being in the later Star Wars movies. But we can heavily imply it.

2. Molly Ringwald

Molly Ringwald was, for a time, the queen of John Hughes movies. Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, she, like, totally dominated the ‘80s mall scene, but wisely let Ally Sheedy and Charlie Sheen have all the coke. But we all must grow, and Ringwald had an awkward, uncertain postadolescence. When offered a lead role, she turned it down because playing a hooker just wasn't consistent with her clean image.

So for Pretty Woman, the producers wound up going with the one woman even less believable as a prostitute, Julia Roberts, cementing Roberts as a bona fide star and triggering a string of romantic comedies that made men the world over prefer church to the movie date whenever one of her pictures came out.

1. Richard Harrison

Richard Harrison was a B-movie actor who cranked out literally dozens of god-awful b-movies. In the '80s, every movie ever made with the word "Ninja" in the title had to feature Harrison, by law if his filmography is to be believed. But before that he was making sword-and-sandal movies over in Italy. He also starred in the first Italian-shot western, and had such a fun time he refused to make another one, recommending a buddy of his instead.

But we have to admit, as manly as Clint is, Clint didn’t spend his career kicking the crap out of ninjas. So Richard Harrison might actually have won this one.

20 Geekiest Cars in Movies

We certainly love our movies here at Forever Geek. In many movies cars play a very big role and we are fans of cars as well. Actually there are three things we particularly like in/about movies: Great movie title sequences, special effects and robots and last but not least cars.
So we went ahead and compiled a list of the geekiest cars in movies.

While selecting these cars it was imperative for us that we chose only modified cars, so no Eleanor (Shelby GT500).

Gadgetmobile

The Gadgetmobile is based on a 1964 Lincoln Continental Convertible and designed by Brenda Bradford. The Gadgetmobile can speak, track Inspector Gadget’s location, camouflage itself and move its tires upwards, among other things and thinks its stands above the laws (and does not need to respect speed limits).

American Graffiti Hot Rod

Millner’s yellow hot rod in American Graffiti is a ‘34 Ford Coupe, carrying custom “THX 138? license plates, which refer to THX 1138, George Lucas’ first movie.

Fab1 Thunderbird

The Fab1 in the 2004 Thunderbirds movie was a heavily modified Ford THunderbird and provided by the company itself. The Thunderbird on 6 wheels is completely road legal and has been featured in Top Gear. The car has bullet-proof, run-flat tires but ca not fly.

Minority Report Lexus 2054

The Lexus 2054 in Minority Report is a concept car running on fuel cells, with advanced safety features, including biometric security systems.
The car, painted in blue this time, also features in Micael Bay’s The Island.

I, Robot Audi RSQ

Built on the chassis of an A4 this Audi concept car, designed for product placement has 2 reverse butterfly doors and the Multi Media Interface (MMI) driver-to-car control system.
This collaboration was a first for Audi and similar to the previously mentioned Lexus concept car in Minority Report.

Judge Dredd Land Rover

22 Land Rovers 101 Forward Control were converted with fiberglass bodies for the movie Judge Dredd and only one had a functional interior for inside shots. The NY Cab is not road legal and had no floors. To see out the windshield you had to tilt your head to one side or the other and lean forward, this basically requiring a second person on board to look out for traffic.

Star Wars Land Speeder

Luke Skywalker’s Land Speeder actually was a modified car. Numerous problems hiding the wheels were encountered. Easiest was to photograph the car from angles not showing the wheels. In longer scenes the Land Speeder had a reflecting skirt, mirroring the sand beneath.

Blade Runner Spinner

Sinners have been used in several movies (See also The Fifth Element Taxi further in the list). Main characteristic is that the cars can take off vertically. In Blade Runner the Spinners are mainly used by the police to patrol the city. The Blade Runner spinner has been designed by Syd Mead.

 Tumbler Batmobile

When Warner Bros decided to reboot the Batman franchise with Christopher Nolan at the helmet, the Batmobile was reinvented. Contrarily to previous Batmobile, the Tumbler was made around functionality. Instead of being one beautiful car with many gadgets, now it was a practical vehicle with rather ugly looks.

1990 Batmobile

When Batman made his first box office appearance on the widescreen, he needed a new car. Much meaner and darker than the 1954 Lincoln Ventura used in the TV series. Gotham was darker and so was the car.

The Batmobile in “Batman” (1990) was built on the longer platform of a Chevrolet Caprice, while producer Tim Burton opted for the platform of a Buick Riviera for “Batman Returns” (1992). The exterior of both Batmobiles was similar and all built-in gadgets were functional.

DeLorean Back to the Future

Who had ever thought that a car, based on a failure like the DLorean, could have become this iconic?
Although based on a fairly vanilla DeLorean, the BTTF car was a genuine flux-capacitor powered time machine. No one would have imagined the DeLorean could reach the needed 88mph to activate the time machine, but it really did (in the movies at least).

Lotus Esprit James Bond The Spy Who Loved Me

James Bond’s Lotus Esprit is probably the most understated Bond car but came with lots of special features: rear firing mud sprayers, full ‘underwater’ kit turning the car into a fully operative submarine, surface-to-air missiles, depth charges, underwater smoke screens and torpedoes. A Bond car as you’ld expect them.

Ecto-1 Ghostbusters (1959 Cadillac Ambulance)

The original Ecto 1 recently was listed on Ebay but with $45.100 the reserve was not met.

Motor Blade

Kaneda’s Bike – Akira

From the poplaur Akira movie, not much is known about Kaneda’s bike. Only very little information about the build and construction/design has been released. There is a big Japanese subculture, building replicas. You can often buy a customized replica.

The Fifth Element Taxi

The cab in The Fifth Element is a spinner car as well. All cars in this movie are spinners and there are very interesting trivia about the car designs and their decorations in the movie.

Speed Racer Mach 5

Speed Racer Mach 5 featured the same original button steering wheel as the car in the anime series. Most of time the car was hung from a crane and effects were computer generated.

Herbie

Although only a slightly modified VW Beetle, Herbie has managed to win the hearts of many kids and adults over the years.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Paragon Panther)

Bumblebee Transformers (1977/2009 Chevrolet Camaro)

Contrarily to in the series, Bumblebee is a Chevrolet Camaro in the 2007 feature Transformers and not a VW Beetle. According to Michael Bay, producer, Bumblebee stands at 17 foot tall as Autobot.

Honorable mentions
Mini Cooper S – The Italian Job 2003
KITT

- Doc Hudson – Cars (1951 Hudson Hornet)
- 14K’s 1980 Porsche 911 in Death Race
Space Robin
